PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY WITH THE HUTCHINSON FAMILY

Last Sunday I traveled up to Ashington in Northumberland to photograph the Hutchinson family with their two dog beautiful dogs Whitney and Millie. Whitney who is the older of the two dogs was the main reason for the family portrait photo shoot as she is nearly 14 years old and has been a guide dog for Geoff for most of those years and the family wanted some photographs of them all with her. I must admit I was a bit nervous as Whitney isn’t in the best of health and you just don’t know how the dogs will react with the flashing and having to look into the camera. I have a dog and I know what it is like keeping it’s attention.

The day went brilliantly, the dogs were both amazing and we got some  great photographs which I am sure you will all agree. With this photo shoot we did a few high key photographs with some portraits just posing near their fireplace and then we moved into their garden for some lifestyle portraits. I would normally suggest that I will get a minimum of 20 high quality photographs out of a portrait photo shoot but in this case I double that amount as they turned out so well. The reason for a minimum of 20 is due to the fact that in most cases with family portraits you will find that one or more of the subjects will be looking the wrong way, blinking, even a flash may not have worked correctly (it happens). Anyway, let show you a selection of the photographs I took of the Hutchinson family. I hope you like them as much as I do and Thank You to Geoff, Jinine and John(The  Hutchinson’s) for making my day go so well.
